Hours: 30 hours average per week. Flexible schedule.
Pay Range: $15 per hour

Artist Trust is a not-for-profit organization whose sole mission is to support and encourage individual artists working in all disciplines in order to enrich community life throughout Washington State.
We have a current opening for the position of Development Associate. This position is intended to manage and execute an array of fundraising special events and provide logistical support as a key member of the Development team. The position reports to the Director of Individual Giving.
The Development Associate will:
- Manage a roster of fundraising salons, including those at patron’s homes and in business environments, where appropriate. This will entail:
- scheduling with host, preparing invite lists, inviting artist(s);
- creation and mailing of invitations and follow-up TY’s;
- overall hospitality, donor packets, advance and on-site logistics, including collaboration with hosts and establish schedule and messaging.
- Produce events to highlight the awardees for Artist Trust grant awards, currently including Twining Humber Lifetime Achievement award (Spring), Grants for Artist Projects (GAP) (Summer), and Fellowships (Fall):
- scheduling with venue, preparing invite lists, inviting artist(s);
- creation and mailing of invitations and follow-up TY’s
- overall hospitality, advance and on-site logistics
- Manage and produce all aspects of the annual Art Auction (February 2009)
Additionally:
- General administrative duties: Updating of Raiser’s Edge database, assist with acknowledgment letters, filing and record-keeping, membership fulfillment, general fundraising mailings, manage appropriate content on the website;
- Research donor prospects for both Individual and Institutional Giving;
- Attend staff meetings and periodic staff planning retreats when appropriate;
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Individual Giving or Executive Director.
Skills required:
- Minimum two years' experience in event planning, program development, fundraising, or coordinating volunteer staff;
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Windows platform. Database management: entry, recording and reporting. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a plus;
- Excellent communication skills: ability to work effectively with management, staff, volunteers and the public while also being able to work independently;
- Excellent organizational skills as well as high level attention to detail.
