For Immediate Release Artist Trust announces 46 artists selected for EDGE Program Artist Trust is pleased to announce 46 artists have been selected to participate in the 2005 EDGE Program. The EDGE Program is a professional development training program created by Artist Trust for visual artists, with generous funding from the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation (www.tremainefoundation.org). The EDGE Program is designed to provide artists with a comprehensive survey of professional practices through a hands-on, interactive curriculum that includes instruction by professionals in the field as well as specialized presentations, panel discussions, site visits, and assignments. The EDGE Program focuses on providing artists with the relevant and necessary entrepreneurial skills to achieve their personal career goals, as well as to develop peer support and exchange among the participating artists. Artist Trust offered the EDGE Program during 2003 and 2004 as a pilot program, open to artists via a nomination process, through which 76 artists successfully completed the program. This year, with an open application process, Artist Trust received 98 applications from artists across Washington State. This year’s participants were selected by a panel comprised of an EDGE graduate, an EDGE instructor, a regional arts professional, an Artist Trust board member and an Artist Trust staff member. A complete list of 2005 recipients and selection panelists can be found below.
