For Immediate Release Artist Trust is proud to support 58 recipients through the 2005 Grants for Artist Projects (GAP) Program. The GAP Program provides up to $1,400 to individual artists for various projects. This year, Artist Trust received 698 applications from artists working in all disciplines across Washington State. This year’s recipients were selected by multidisciplinary review panels comprising artists, past Artist Trust grant recipients and arts professionals from Eastern, Central and Western Washington as well as Oregon and Canada. A complete list of 2005 recipients and selection panelists can be found below. The GAP Program is one of three annual grant programs offered by Artist Trust to individual Washington State artists. The foremost criterion for selection is the artistic excellence of an applicant’s artwork. Panelists are also asked to respond to an applicant’s project proposal and the feasibility of their project. Selection panels rotate annually. GAP recipients and their projects will be featured in the upcoming 2005 summer edition of the Artist Trust Journal and on Artist Trust’s website at www.artisttrust.org/grants/recipient_profiles/GAP/05. In addition to the GAP Program, Artist Trust administers the Artist Trust/Washington State Arts Commission Fellowship Program, and the Twining Humber Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement. Artist Trust is also a vital information resource for artists, providing professional development information through print, website, telephone and email. Support for the 2005 Artist Trust GAP Program is generously provided by the Kenneth & Marleen Alhadeff Charitable Foundation, The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, Chap and Eve Alvord, Nancy and Buster Alvord, ArtsFund, Artspace, Bossak/Heilbron Charitable Foundation, Michael and Cathy Casteel, Katharyn Alvord Gerlich, Helen and Max Gurvich Artist Fund, Mia McEldowney & Bill Mitchell, Michael & Michele Miller, PANACA Gallery Fund, PONCHO, Jon and Mary Shirley Fund for Visual Artists, David and Catherine Eaton Skinner, Mary E.
