Artist Trust Announces 60 Artists Selected for 2006 EDGE Professional Development Training Program

Artist Trust is pleased to announce 60 artists have been selected to participate in the 2006 EDGE Program. The EDGE Program is a professional development training program created by Artist Trust for visual artists, with generous funding from the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation (www.tremainefoundation.org).

The EDGE Program is designed to provide artists with a comprehensive survey of professional practices through a hands-on, interactive curriculum that includes instruction by professionals in the field as well as specialized presentations, panel discussions, site visits, and assignments. The EDGE Program focuses on providing artists with the relevant and necessary entrepreneurial skills to achieve their personal career goals, as well as to develop peer support and exchange among the participating artists.

Artist Trust first offered the EDGE Program in 2003 and since then 122 artists have successfully completed the program. This year Artist Trust received 102 applications from artists across Washington State. This year’s participants were selected by a panel comprised of an EDGE graduate, an EDGE instructor, a regional arts professional, an Artist Trust board member and an Artist Trust staff member. A complete list of 2006 recipients and selection panelists can be found below.
