For Immediate Release Contact: Heather Joy Helbach-Olds, Director of Programs ARTIST TRUST ANNOUNCES 47 ARTISTS SELECTED FOR Artist Trust is pleased to announce that 47 artists have been selected to participate in the 2007 EDGE Professional Development Program for visual artists, created by Artist Trust with generous funding from the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation (www.tremainefoundation.org). The EDGE Program is designed to provide artists with a comprehensive survey of professional practices through a hands-on, interactive curriculum that includes instruction by professionals in the field as well as specialized presentations, panel discussions, site visits and assignments. The EDGE Program focuses on providing artists with relevant and necessary entrepreneurial skills to achieve their personal career goals, as well as to develop peer support and exchange among the participating artists. Four cycles of 15 or 16 artists each are scheduled: Cycle B is held June-July in Seattle, Cycle C is a one-week intensive at Centrum in Port Townsend, and Cycle D is held October-November in Seattle. Artist Trust first offered the EDGE Program in 2003; since then, 182 artists have successfully completed the program. This year Artist Trust received 87 applications from artists across Washington State. This year’s participants were selected by a panel consisting of an EDGE graduate, two EDGE instructors, an Artist Trust board member and an Artist Trust staff member. A complete list of 2007 participants and selection panelists can be found below. The participating artists will present their work at the final session of their respective cycles. Please see below the dates of the presentations and consider joining us!
