For Immediate Release Contact: Heather Helbach-Olds, Director of Programs ARTIST TRUST ANNOUNCES 2007 ARTIST TRUST/WASHINGTON STATE ARTS COMMISSION FELLOWSHIPS Artist Trust proudly announces the 21 recipients of the distinguished 2007 Artist Trust/Washington State Arts Commission Fellowships. Each recipient receives an unrestricted cash award of $6,500 (increased from $6,000 in 2006), for a total of $136,500 distributed. The Fellowships recognize an artist’s creative excellence and accomplishment, professional achievement and continuing dedication to their artistic discipline. This year, the Fellowship Program received a total of 372 applications from artists working in Music, Media, Literary and Craft Arts. Recipients were selected by peer review panels comprised of artists and arts professionals from across Washington State, as well as from Oregon. (A complete list of recipients and panelists can be found below).              Fidelma McGinn, Executive Director of Artist Trust, stated: Through the Artist Trust/Washington State Arts Commission Fellowship program, Artist Trust has awarded $1,819,500 to 330 artists over the past 19 years. Since 1993, Artist Trust has maintained a successful cooperative partnership with the Washington State Arts Commission to administer six Fellowship awards on behalf of the State of Washington. Through the Fellowship Program, Artist Trust makes awards each year to artists working in four disciplines on a two-year rotating cycle.
