Make it an arts-filled weekend in Eastern Washington! Join us on Sunday, June 17 at noon for the public unveiling and dedication of “Abundance,” a new public art sculpture built by father-and-son artists, Michael and Chad Gray. Meant to symbolize the topography of the Yakima Valley, this magnificent glass, steel, basalt and bronze sculpture glows at night and stands more than a dozen feet tall at the corner of Second Street and Yakima Avenue. Securing it was possible through a $5,000 grant from Artist Trust and the Yakima Giving Circle, a group of community members who help to fund artistic endeavors. Artist Trust is a not-for-profit organization whose sole mission is to support and encourage individual artists working in all disciplines in order to enrich community life throughout Washington State.
