Artist Trust Benefit Screening: Trimpin: The Sound of Invention
July 1, 2009 :: Experience Music Project, Seattle

Trimpin: The Sound of Invention, a film by Peter Esmonde, is an amusing journey through the sonic world of an eccentric creative genius. Artist/inventor/engineer/ composer Trimpin shuns the hype and hyperbole of the commercial art world – yet his freewheeling sculptures and outrageous musical experiments are cherished by museums all over the planet. Filmed over two years, this cinéma vérité documentary feature follows the artist/inventor as he devises a perpetual motion machine, builds a 20-meter tower of automatic electric guitars, and collaborates with the Kronos Quartet on an outrageous world premiere. Trimpin was present for a post-screening discussion in which he took questions from the audience. All proceeds benefited Artist Trust's grant programs for innovative artists.

Jini Dellaccio Book Launch & Birthday Bash
April 24, 2009 :: Crocodile Cafe, Seattle

Master photographer Jini Dellaccio took some of the most recognizable and iconic photos of 1960s rock bands, including Northwest musical legends the Wailers and the Sonics, as well as The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, and many others. We celebrated Jini's 92nd birthday and the release of her new book, Rock&Roll Jini Dellaccio, at a big bash at the Crocodile Cafe. A musical tribute featured original members of the Sonics, the Wailers, and the Daily Flash, joined by the next generation of musicians influenced by the music of the 1960s, including the Tom Price Desert Classic, featuring former members of the U-Men, Monkeywrench, Gas Huffer and the Derelicts. Proceeds of book sales will be used to create a grant in Carl and Jini Dellaccio's honor, administered by Artist Trust.
