Artist Trust has offered residency programs through our Grants for Artist Projects Program and Fellowship Program since 2004. Residencies have been offered in partnership through Centrum, Paul Goode and the Hafer Family Foundation. Applications are not available for residencies as they are discretionary awards given to applicants of grant programs and criteria is decided on a case-by-case basis.

Centrum Residency

Artist Trust is currently partnering with Centrum – a gathering place for artists and creative thinkers from around the world, located at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, Washington – to provide residencies for artists. Residency recipients are chosen in conjunction with the Grants for Artist Projects (GAP); five of this year's GAP alternates have been selected to attend residencies at Centrum. Each artist will have private accommodations and access to the studio resources at Centrum, plus a $500 stipend for travel, living expenses and supplies. For recipients of the Centrum Residency click here.

Camano Island Residency

Through an Artist Trust partnership with the Hafer Family Foundation, one GAP recipient is selected for the residency on the Hafer family property on Camano Island. Each artist receives full access to the property plus a $500 stipend for travel, living expenses and supplies. The 2008 Camano Island Residency recipient is Nicholas Stokes. Paul Goode Ireland Residency

From 2004-2007, former Artist Trust Board Member Paul Goode’s generosity bestowed the gift of time and a home away from home in Ireland to a lucky Artist Trust Fellowship applicant. Working with Artist Trust staff in a process that dovetails with the selection of the Fellowship recipients, Paul chooses the recipient of the annual Paul Goode Ireland Residency from semi-finalists who have not been awarded a Fellowship.
