Kristina HagmanI am a painter and printmaker working with the urban landscape as my subject. In Seattle this setting includes Mount Rainier, and its scale in comparison to anything man-made makes us pause to contemplate our relationship to the natural world in a new and awesome way. The mountain snuck up on me as I followed my daily routine, tantalizing me from the corner of my eye I until I had to make it the focus my art. Posted by hagman | October 28, 2008 - 10:00pm
Carolyn KriegI think about light a lot and death --the sensuality of life, people, humor, irony. I start with photography and may layer and erase drawing by computer and hand, painting and resins –it can be a lengthy process, creating a history with each piece-light leaking, emotional and sensorial. My thematic focus: the tension of opposites.
