VSA Arts / Green Light Awards / Seeks ArtistsVSA Arts is seeking visual and media artists with disabilities between the ages of 16 and 25 whose work is either abstract or representational for the Green Light Awards. The Green Light theme is to illustrate what signals the artist's creative motivations. VSA Arts / A National Juried Exhibition for Young Artists with Disabilities / Seeks ArtistsVSA Arts seeks young artists with disabilities, age 16-25, to participate in a national juried exhibition with the theme: Driven (What moves you to create?) Two dimensional works in all mediums are eligible. Apply online via CAFE system. No entry fee. Prizes from $2,000 to $20,000. Selected artwork will be part of an exhibition in Washington, D.C. from September 17, 2008 - January 4, 2009 at the S. Dillon Ripley Center of the Smithsonian Institution. The exhibition will then tour throughout the United States for approximately two years. At the end of this two-year period, artwork that is not purchased will be returned to the artists. The top three finalists will be honored at the opening reception on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. during late September of 2008.
