Pratt Fine Arts Center Fusing Studio Coordinator is responsible for orienting renters and new instructors to the studio and issuing Access cards, as well as scheduling kiln use for classes and renters.
Responsibilities:
1. To ensure that all interested studio renters have been provided with a copy of Warm Glass User Manual and accessed properly
-Have weekly office hours available to conduct access appointments and set up kiln use with renters
-Orient and then one week later test each renter before granting access
-Create Access cards for renters
-Enter firing schedules into GB for renters when needed
2. Keep and maintain a master schedule for the kilns
-Keep an updated copy of the current months schedule posted in the fusing studio
-Post both email and phone number in the studio and reservation book at the front desk
-Respond to all kiln requests in a timely manner
3. Ensure studio is being maintained
-Check that supplies and equipment are in order
-Report breakage on work request forms
-Stock blank firing schedules
-Scrape, coat, and maintain kiln shelves as time allows
-Conduct routine cleaning of counters, sink, floor, kilns, and table tops
4. Unload kilns as time allows
5. Assist with directing work study students as related to above items
6. Assist with Pratt events as needed
7. Complete a timesheet for each pay period
Qualifications:
1. Four years glass working experience
2. Familiarity with Pratt's fusing studio. Familiarity with studio practice and techniques for fusing and slumping.
Time: 14hrs/month
Compensation: $9.38
