Apr 22 2010 - 8:00pm Apr 25 2010 - 8:00pm Inspired by the journey of Lewis and Clark and the myths of westward expansion, West is an original music/theater performance about the places where the sun sets and an exploration of the people who followed it there. Well known in the Northwest for combining lush vocal harmonies with an unusual mix of electric and acoustic instruments, “Awesome” teams up with director Matthew Richter to push their unique brand of performance-making into new conceptual realms. Since 2004, “Awesome” has produced several evening length works, including 2006’s noSIGNAL at OtB and other performances staged at ACT, Re-bar, Seattle Children’s Theater, and concert venues such as the Crocodile, the Rendezvous, and Neumos. In 2009, their original soundtrack was featured in the indie film The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle by David Russo. Richter’s last stage production, Dinner Theater, was an audience favorite at OtB when it premiered in 2006.
