Kirkland Arts Center presents innovative, engaging visual arts exhibits that showcase contemporary artists and provide rare opportunities for emerging curators. The Arts Center’s Satellite exhibits at Kirkland City Hall, the Kirkland Library, Design Within Reach and Kirkland Performance Center bring the work of local artists out into the public, making art a part of thousands of area resident’s lives. makeARTKirkland Arts Center is the only organization offering in-depth training in a wide variety of visual arts on the Eastside. In 2007 KAC will present 270 classes and workshops for more than 2,400 students of all ages.Approximately 30% of KAC students live in Kirkland, 65% live in other areas around the Puget Sound, and 5% reside outside of King and Snohomish counties. Every year the Arts Center employs 75 master artist-instructors, which helps ensure that these artists continue to contribute to King County’s vibrant arts community.Kirkland Arts Center works with schools and community organizations such as Hopelink and the Kirkland Teen Union Building to bring arts education to a broad range of young people and their families.
