The City of Seattle's Office of Film + Music, a local government office dedicated to facilitating and promoting the film and music industry in Seattle, seeks an Intern. Film + Music Interns primarily serve a marketing/communications role and provide administrative support for the Office.
The intern will become a member of the Film + Music team and be responsible for a host of ongoing duties as well as some special projects. In return, the Office will introduce you to the local film and music industries, provide a $750 - $1000/month stipend and, if deserved, a letter of recommendation upon completion of the internship.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Composing and maintaining the Film + Music newsletter and blog
- Researching media and industry news and opportunities for Seattle film/music communities
- Updating the Office's websites (seattlecityofmusic.com and seattle.gov/filmandmusic)
- Assisting with film permitting
- Maintaining social media sites
- Aiding in hosting industry networking events
- Perpetuating internship program
- Visiting film industry leaders on location in Seattle
- Database maintenance
- Day-to-day office duties
The internship requires a minimum six-month commitment of 30-40 hours/week. Schedule is negotiable, though interns are required to work a full-day on Wednesdays (no exceptions). An additional three-month tenure is possible. Strong communication, writing and organizational/research skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and projects and be self-motivated. Special consideration will be given to individuals with an interest in the arts and entertainment industries
