May 17 2010 - 7:00pm May 20 2010 - 10:00am Northwest Film Forum dares local arts curators to enter the cinematic ring! We know how much effort goes into programming each film we play. What better way to spice up our summer calendar than putting our curatorial colleagues in the hot seat and asking them to program their favorite film from the last decade? We also asked them to prepare an oral argument in defense of their selection. The result is an amazing selection from gifted local curators. Lady Vengeance Come out to hear Robin Held, curator extraordinaire of the Frye Art Museum defend her selection for film of the decade, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, the third installment behind South Korean director Chan-Wok Park's vengeance trilogy. Titus Lane Czaplinski, artistic director of On The Boards, defends his choice for film of the decade, Titus, directed by Julie Taymor, whose previous credits include the hit Broadway version of "The Lion King." Mulhulland Drive David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, a psychoerotic noir is one of the essential L.A. movies, has been named the best film of the decade in a Film Comment survey of nearly 200 critics, filmmakers and other cinema insiders from around the world. Its hard one to argue against, but come out to hear Linda Bowers, the director of Seattle Arts And Lectures, give her reasons why she agrees! Dig! Taking you out on the road for seven years with two of America's most creative and unique rock bands: The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Ondi Timoner's Dig! is and electrifying documentary that tells a cautionary tale about the dangers and trappings of the rock & roll lifestyle. One Pot guru Michael Hebb thinks this is the film of the decade. Tonight he defends that choice!
