RESPONSIBILITIES: Exhibitions: Assist Artistic Director with installation and take down of KAC Gallery exhibits. Assist Artistic Director with installation and take down of KAC satellite exhibits. Attendance at Gallery opening nights. Work closely with the Artistic Director to plan the production of upcoming gallery exhibitions, including marketing, PR, budgeting, and sponsorship. Assist Artistic Director in planning future KAC Gallery and satellite exhibitions.  Answer the phones and assist in other department and office activities, as needed. PR and marketing: Work closely with the Artistic Director to plan the marketing and PR strategies for upcoming exhibits, including 2007 Fall Arts Guides. Assist with media relations for print. Assist in writing of press releases for gallery exhibits and maintain direct contact with press and media, as necessary. Assist in the design, production, and dissemination of exhibition postcards. Update KAC website.QUALIFICATIONS High School education and actively pursuing a bachelors degree or higher in fine art or art history, or a recent graduate of the same. Efficient, highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Initiative and creative problem-solving are crucial, as is demonstrated skill in building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse constituencies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver a strong plus. Background or interest in the arts. An awareness of the Seattle artistic community, desirable For more information about KAC visit www.kirklandartscenter.org Half time position, 22-26 hours per week. Compensation: Stipend or class credit available and one free art class at KAC To apply: Mail or email resume, three references available for phone interview, and cover letter identifying your interest at KAC and expectations for the internship to: Attn: Jason Huff jhuff@kirklandartscenter.org
