Executive Director The Washington State Arts Alliance (WSAA) and the Washington State Arts Alliance Foundation (WSAAF) are seeking a dynamic Executive Director for related organizations that share a common vision of a vibrant and well-supported arts sector in Washington State. WSAA works towards this vision through advocacy and lobbying and WSAAF through networking, education and communications. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to help steer the organizations in a promising but ever-changing environment. WSAA/F office, staffed by the Executive Director, Program Director and one support staff person is located at the Seattle Center near downtown Seattle. Responsibilities include: leadership, legislative advocacy, membership development, fundraising, communications, financial and human resource management and external relations.  Travel within the state and to national meetings and conferences will be required. Required background: bachelor’s degree; five years of progressively responsible leadership experience within the non-profit or public sector; knowledge of public policy and the working of state and local government; experience and/or knowledge of the arts sector; and proven success with board relations, operations, fiscal management and fundraising. Desired Attributes: capable of visionary leadership and the ability to balance the interests of a diverse constituency; well developed strategic thinking skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable; open and effective written and verbal communications; a passion for arts advocacy and for the vision and missions of the organizations.
