Blue Earth Alliance

Blue Earth Alliance educates the public about endangered cultures, threatened environments and social concerns through photography. By supporting the power of photographic storytelling, we motivate society to make positive change. We accept proposals for consideration twice a year, January 21st and June 1st.

The Blue Earth Alliance is a non-profit with 501c3 status. This means that Blue Earth is eligible to receive contributions from foundations and contributions from individuals and other entities that are tax deductible. When we sponsor a project, that project can solicit funds in cooperation with a Blue Earth Alliance coordinator that qualify for 501c3 (tax exempt) status. Each project photographer is assigned a coordinator on the Board with whom the photographer may discuss the project.

The photographer who proposes the project is to work with the coordinator to develop funding for the project. Blue Earth provides two hours of consultation with a grant writer, a list of potential foundations, and a 50 page book covering the organization, funding, shooting and publishing of photographic projects. All funding requests are on behalf of, and subject to the approval of, the Blue Earth Alliance. Blue Earth Alliance receives a small percentage of each grant to help cover it's operating expenses. The balance of the funds are distributed to the project as the work progresses.
