Job Title: Sculpture Technician
Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications.
Structure: This position reports to the Education Director. It is a 32 hours per week and is non-exempt from overtime pay. This position works closely with all staff, technicians, and instructors. Sculpture Studio Monitors and Coordinators, other departmental work study students, and contractual labor hired for studio related work report to the Sculpture Technician.
General Duties: The Sculpture Technician is responsible for managing Pratt Fine Arts Center’s sculpture studios. Including; Development of curriculum planning and programming, participation in budget planning, instructor support, purchasing and inventory, and participation in non-program events as they pertain to the Sculpture Department.
Responsibilities:
•Create, update and communicate studio policies, procedures and standards to instructors, students, and studio renters.
•Create and develop curriculum and programming for the sculpture department.
•Plan and schedule curriculum calendars each quarter.
•Work closely with sculpture studio instructors to ensure a positive experience for the students by ordering class/studio supplies and listening and responding to instructor requests.
•Orders supplies and tools needed and ensure that the studio is maintained and studio equipment is in good working order.
•Maintains inventory control systems for sculpture studio tools, equipment, and studio supplies.
•Works with other studio technicians and managers to plan and implement expansion and capital improvements to departmental studios.
•Works to establish and implement annual department budget, and to maintain financial accountability in these areas.
•Works with other staff to plan and assist with studio-related special events.
•Manages volunteer and paid work study assistants working for the department.
•Responsible for management and growth of Independent Users Program within the Sculpture Department.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with 3 years related experience.
•Knowledge of current trends in sculpture, and familiarity with sculptors working both locally and nationally
•Knowledge of arts organizations or related institutions
•Knowledge of broad range of sculpture-related skills
•Organizational skills, teamwork, and communication skills
•Experience with project and program budgets, purchasing and inventory systems, and cost estimating
•General knowledge of major shop equipment
•valid Washington State Driver’s License
Special Abilities: Communicate effectively both orally, and written. Ability to be trained on the job quickly, efficiently and accurately. Ability to keep a positive demeanor under sometimes stressful work environment, with an ability to adapt to an evolving organizational structure.
