Job Title: Marketing and Public Relations Assistant
Compensation: $13/hour plus partial benefits.
Structure: The Marketing and Public Relations Assistant is a 24 hours/week position that will report to the Marketing and Public Relations Manager.
General Duties: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide administrative and project support for the Marketing and Public Relations Manager.
Responsibilities:
•Generate and disseminate email newsletters, press releases and promotional flyers.
•Disseminate event information about Pratt on the Internet by updating online calendars and sending information to appropriate websites.
•Create, organize and update email lists, media and VIP contact lists, and mailing lists.
•Help create and distribute fliers, postcards and other publications about upcoming classes and events.
•Organize the successful distribution of Pratt’s course catalog and other promotional materials.
•Organize and update marketing systems, such as files, photographs and archives.
•Assist with Pratt events, such as the Annual Art Auction, Holiday Sale and Open House.
•Help with other marketing tasks as assigned.
•Assist Education Department when needed
Qualifications:
•A bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as advertising, marketing, journalism, and nonprofit or arts management.)
•1 year experience working in art or nonprofit organizations, or in marketing, public relations or journalism.
•Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Have an interest in and knowledge of the local visual arts community.
•Have excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite) and be Internet savvy.
•Be well-organized and detail oriented.
•Have a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•Experience using In Design software a plus.
Special Abilities: Communicate effectively both orally, and written. Ability to be trained on the job quickly, efficiently and accurately. Ability to keep a positive demeanor under sometimes stressful work environment, with an ability to adapt to an evolving organizational structure.
