Hiawatha Artist Lofts, at 843 Hiawatha Place South (one block south of Dearborn and Rainier) has two storefronts available for lease beginning March 1, 2008. The spaces are 860 square feet each and will lease for $12 per square foot per year plus triple net estimated at $4 per year. For those unfamiliar with commercial leasing that comes out to a monthly rent of $1,150. So far we have a bike shop, a gallery, Artspace's new office and a dance company. The spaces will have drywall and tape but not be painted. They will have electrical box and be wired along walls with one ceiling light fixture. Each unit has its own bathroom. Perfect for an artist studio, showroom or coop space. FYI - The Jackson Place Community would be very happy to have a coffee shop at Hiawatha.
