Call for Art Submissions Deadline: February 22, 2008 ArtXchange Juried Exhibition on Compassion, Call to Artists What Does Compassion Look Like To You? Or Sound Like? Feel Like? Taste Like? Express your ideas and stories about compassion. Share your painting, drawing, photography sculpture, film/video, mixed media, and installation…to be showcased at ArtXchange Gallery in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square for the month of April 2008, with the opening reception to be held on First Thursday, April 3rd. This exhibition with the theme of compassion is planned to run concurrently with an unprecedented 5-day gathering in Seattle featuring His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. This exhibition will engage the hearts and minds of our community by highlighting and celebrating the power of compassion through art and creative dialogues. For more information on the Seed of Compassion Gathering, please refer to the website: www.seedsofcompassion.org Gallery Mission: ArtXchange gallery in Pioneer Square aims to inspire cultural exploration, the expansion of global community, and the exchange of ideas through art, film, and photography. Eligibility: Artists whose work embodies the theme of compassion and engages the hearts and minds of our community. All media – painting, drawing, photography sculpture, film/video, mixed media, and installation. A visit to our gallery or website is strongly encouraged. www.artxchange.org How to Enter: Submit 3 – 5 high resolution digital images of your work, resume, and artist’s statement to apply2artxchange@gmail.com. If you choose to send us materials by regular USPS mail, we will not be returning your materials, so please do not send originals. The application deadline is February 22, 2008. Acceptance: Artists will be notified of acceptance by February 29, 2008. Works accepted into the exhibition will depend on media, size, and number of entries. Commission: 50/50% The Artist will receive 50% on any sales. The remaining proceed will be split between ArtXchange and Seeds of Compassion, a national non-profit organization.  www.seedsofcompassion.org Exhibition Conditions: 1. Artists are responsible for packing/delivery/shipping and retrieval of works from the Gallery.                                                             2. Delivered works MUST be ready to hang and/or exhibition ready. No exceptions. 3. Artists wishing to attend the exhibition are responsible for his/her transportation to and from the gallery. 4. Artists who accept an invitation to exhibit agree upon the specified dates for: Delivery, set up, display, opening, and retrieval.Â
