ABZ Press seeks writers to compete for the ABZ Poetry Prize, a first full-length book of poems. Eligible work will be original poetry manuscripts between 48-80 pages.

 The winning manuscript will be published by ABZ Press and the author will be awardedone thousand dollars and copies of the winning book. The winning manuscript will be chosen by Heather McHugh.

Submit manuscript, bound only with a binder clip, postmarked May or June 2008, with a reading fee of $25.00 in US Dollars as a check or money order payable to ABZ Press. Include a table of contents, acknowledgements, and two title pages. One title page should have only the title. The second title page should have the author’s name, address, phone number with area code, and e-mail address. Please indicate any previously published poetry books or chapbooks (with fewer than 48 pages).

Simultaneous Submissions are OK. Manuscripts will not be returned.

To receive notice of manuscript arrival, include a stamped, self-addressed postcard. To receive notice of contest results, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

The reading fee entitles entrant to one copy of the winning book. To receive a copy of the winning book, include a 7x10 envelope with a USA address and $2.15 in USA postage.
