The Mountain Loop Experience, held June 28 - 29, is a tri-city event in conjunction with the reopening of the Mountain Loop Highway which was washout several years ago. State, county, and city officials will cut the ribbon Saturday, June 28, allowing tourists and outdoor enthusiasts to travel the picturesque route once again. The communities of Granite Falls, Darrington, and Arlington have several events planned throughout the weekend. The arts and crafts fair is a one-day event on June 28 held in the center of town in Granite Falls. The emphasis of the arts and crafts fair is to highlight the local and regional beauty of the Pacific NW and the history and recreational activities of the area through art, photography, and fine crafts. (Logging, trains, hiking, kyaking, and various summer and winter activities are common to our area.)  Interested artisans should contact MtLoopExperienceArt@yahoo.com for more information and an application packet. The deadline for applying is June 4, 2008. The booth fee is $50. The Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring all of our events during the weekend.
