Tacoma Arts Commission

The Tacoma Arts Commission supports arts organizations, activities and individual artists through three funding programs. They also are stewards of the Municipal Art Collection and run the Municipal Art Program which dedicates 1% of capital construction costs to the creation of public art. The Arts Commission produces Art at Work month each November which is a comprehensive calendar of arts activities, studio tours, an art slam, and an arts symposium.

Tacoma / Center for Urban Waters / Seeks to Commission Work

Artists and/or artist teams from the states of Washington, Oregon and California are invited to submit qualifications for a $150,000 commission for the Center for Urban Waters in Tacoma, WA. The application deadline is Jan.15, 2009.


Tacoma Arts Commission / 2009 Arts Projects Funding / Call for Applications

The City of Tacoma is now accepting Arts Projects funding applications from eligible organizations producing arts programming in 2009. Applicants are encouraged to attend a free workshop, which explains the process and addresses questions. The workshop will be held on Oct. 22 from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St., Room 708.


Tacoma Arts Commission / Art Slam / Call for Submissions

The Tacoma Arts Commission invites artists working in a broad spectrum of media, including visual art, music, dance, performance, and film to submit entries to the Art at Work month Art Slam which will take place Friday, Nov. 21, from 7 to 9 pm at the Rialto Theater in downtown Tacoma.


Call to Artists - Tacoma Public Artist Registry - 3 Opportunities

The City of Tacoma and the Tacoma Arts Commission are developing a juried, online public artist registry of visual artists who are interested in creating public art. The registry will function as a public resource directory for privately commissioned artwork. This opportunity is open to City of Tacoma residents.
