The Iowa Department for the Blind, located in Des Moines, Iowa, seeks artists to create two works of art to be installed in the six-story building which houses the Department's programs. The $25,000 budget includes all artist fees and expenses to design, fabricate, transport, and install the artwork. This project is open to all artists living in the United States. Blind artists are encouraged to apply. The artwork commissioned for this project must reflect a positive philosophy on blindness. The art must also be fully accessible to blind persons. Two-dimensional visual art which has no other sensory components will not be considered. The artwork must also be visually appealing.
