ArtsWest, the leading nonprofit theater organization in West Seattle, is seeking a new Technical Director.  ArtsWest's produces artistic events that are so fiercely compelling that they require conversation, improve the imagination, and promote cultural vibrancy as a core value for the communities of West Seattle.  This position is full time, with insurance benefits, and starts in July.

Job description:  Responsible for designing or for overseeing the design and execution of all scenic, sound, lighting and special effect elements used in the theater productions and insures that all are executed in a timely manner and within budget.  Responsible for the procurement of production supplies.  Directs production staff and provides operational expertise and oversight for all stage and gallery electrical and sound requirements.  Oversees technical needs of outside rentals and provides all necessary documents and staging information as required.  Provides input for program calendar and budget.  Also serves as shop foreman, master carpenter, charge scenic artist, master electrician.  Responsible for load-in & strike and basic equipment maintenance.  Interviews, hires and supervises stage managers, board operators and running crew for all performances.

FT, exempt, with insurance benefits.  Salary low 30s, DOE.  ArtsWest is an equal opportunity employer.
