4Culture / SITE-SPECIFIC / 2009 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition Centennial / Seeks Applicants

SITE-SPECIFIC/2009 King County Performance Network seeks local artists and arts organizations to work on projects in commemoration of the centennial of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, Washington’s first world’s fair held in the summer of 1909.

With the help of heritage experts, historical organizations and existing research about historical events, the chosen artists and art organizations will be encouraged to imagine, through a variety of artistic disciplines and community settings, a future world for King County residents.

Projects may take place between March 2009 and December of 2009 in one or more King County communities. 4Culture project funding typically ranges from $1,000 to $15,000 per project. Eligibility is open to artists of all disciplines, with priority given to proposals that include a dynamic relationship to a specific location or locations.
