Halifax, Vermont EMS / Short Story Competition / Seeks Entries

Halifax EMS is now accepting entries to their nation-wide short story contest. This contest is both a means of promoting EMS in literature and raising funds for their squad. One half of the funds raised will be used for prize money, awarded to the authors of the top three stories. The other half of the money will be used for equipment and expenses associated with providing pre-hospital emergency care in a remote rural Vermont town.

Stories should not exceed 12,000 words. No limit to number or submissions per person. No horror, fantasy or erotica.

$35 per entry. Minimum of $1000 for first place and cash prizes for 2nd and 3d. Halifax EMS will publish a small selection of the stories including the top three stories. This publication will be available for free to all those who paid the entrance fee. Others will be able to download the PDF publication for a nominal charge.
