Shunpike / Seeks Programs Interns 

Position Overview
Shunpike’s Programs internship will provide hands on experience to those interested in a career in nonprofit and/or arts management. The Programs Intern will assist the Executive Director with the administration of Shunpike’s three programs: Partner Artists, Sustainable Organizations, and Accountability and the Arts. Duties will include program evaluation and analysis, providing administrative support, coordinating events, and assisting the Executive Director with growth planning. The intern will work with and report directly to the Executive Director.

Internship Outline
The Programs Intern will be expected to:
• Coordinate and/or assist with coordination of events, including (but not limited to) orientation sessions for new Partner Artists, Accountability and the Arts seminars, and larger fundraising events
• Manage the intake process for new Partner Artists, as well as the yearly review process for returning Partner Artists
• Assist with communications and marketing of Shunpike’s programs
• Assist with ongoing evaluation and analysis of current programming
• Assist the Executive Director with documents and research needed for growth planning
• Process financial documents and assist with accounting for programs
• Provide general operational support
• Attend Partner Artist Events and maintain a calendar of all Partner Artist and Sustainable Organization events
• Conduct ongoing research, benchmarking, and outreach efforts to similar programs around the country

Additional Information
This is a part-time position (15 hours per week), with flexible hours and location, but will require a minimum six-month commitment. Shunpike’s office is located in Pioneer Square in Seattle.

Candidate Requirements & Applicable Skills
The internship is created for candidates who are working towards a career in nonprofit and/or arts management and who are interested in gaining hands on experience with helping to manage the programs of a growing nonprofit organization. Ideal candidates will have a background in the local arts and culture community, a bachelor’s degree, excellent writing and verbal skills, and the ability to work independently. A working knowledge of program evaluation and performance measurement techniques is strongly recommended. The intern must also have efficiency in using the Internet for research purposes, strong analytical skills and a sense of humor.

Shunpike is able to provide transportation vouchers and tickets to local arts events as well as a monthly stipend.
