Second Use Building Materials in Seattle, WA is now accepting entries to the Salvage Art Contests, a feature in the Second Use Annual Fall Festival on September 27th, 2008.

Second Use is a store that diverts reusable building materials from the landfill, thereby preserving our resources and providing cost-effective remodeling supplies for our community. 

There are two contests:

Contest #1: The Art of Salvage
Paintings, sculptures, modern art - whatever you want! Build a masterpiece from any found or salvaged materials (Second Use materials strongly encouraged). The possibilities are endless. No photographs will be accepted for this contest - you must submit a physical piece of art.

Contest #2: The Art of Building
Show off your stunning remodel, an outdoor oasis, or a refurbished cabinet. This contest celebrates do-it-yourself projects that have used salvaged materials in a creative way. Contrary to our past art contests, this will be the only one where photos are accepted (and encouraged) in place of a physical submission.
