Personal Statement

I primarily create watercolor pencil drawings and acrylic paintings.  My artwork is deeply influenced by light, color, and my profound reverence for the natural world.  My most current work is about remembering and reconnecting with the beauty and spirit of our everyday world, inspiring and ensuring the health of our environment. 

Biography

Growing up in the diverse cultural atmosphere of the Washington D.C. area encouraged my love of the expression of our world and culture through the visual and performing arts. I pursued my interests by learning as much as possible about a variety of art forms and cultures receiving a BA in Art History and a BA in Art Education from the University of Maryland in 1998.  I pursed a career in art education leading to the opening of my own art business.  Although I have explored many different art forms and worked with a number of different mediums it was my desire to paint that continuously pulled me back to my studio during the intervening years. I currently reside and paint in Seattle, Washington.
