Discipline - Emerging & Cross-Disciplinary Arts

Janice Arnold / JA FELT

I am driven by a passion for process and the challenge to expand the boundaries of what has existed before in handmade Felt. I strive to bring art and craft together in expression and function that combines to create artistic landscapes of texture and color. In exploring ways to make completely new Felt fabrics, I push the limits of scale, size and balance.,

I question how art might illuminate darkness.
Curious about the fires we feel compelled to enter.
And imagine, like moths, we are drawn to the light.

I create temporary installations and initiate transitory interactions with easily accessible materials. Natural forces of water, fire, wind, gravity, time, light and space are a reminder that these are collaborative happenings. I act as initiator and witness, engaging natural or architectural landscapes and document the process with photographs.

Artist/Phonographer

Perri Lynch is a Seattle-based artist.  Her work examines the relationship between human perception and sense of place.  Issues of navigation, intuition, and physical proximity are key components of these investigations.  Combined techniques in sound, light, sculpture, and image, allow Perri to explore many attributes of a place simultaneously.
