Kristina HagmanI am a painter and printmaker working with the urban landscape as my subject. In Seattle this setting includes Mount Rainier, and its scale in comparison to anything man-made makes us pause to contemplate our relationship to the natural world in a new and awesome way. The mountain snuck up on me as I followed my daily routine, tantalizing me from the corner of my eye I until I had to make it the focus my art. Posted by hagman | October 28, 2008 - 10:00pm
Joy S. OlneyMy paintings are contemporary impressionist in style. I combine strong composition and value with spontaneous application of colorful pigments using the effects of natural light. In my landscapes I hope to conjure up memories of a time in our lives or a desired place yet to visit. I like to catch the significant characteristic and energy of the people in my paintings and drawings. I combine this casual spontaneity with my classical training to produce my original pieces. Lee WithingtonMy work is about the natural cycle of growth, death, and decay, finding wisdom in nature and looking to reveal the unseen or unexpected. Posted by lee withington | October 17, 2008 - 6:37pm
Kathy KimballThe Portal Series began an exploration into the space between the physical and non-physical world. While walking through a 1940’s abandoned military fort and hearing the sound of children’s laughter echoing in the rooms between rusted doors I considered how brief our physical time is here. I saw the doors as a passage to another period of time or thought. I walked through rooms that were filled with people who were long since gone. It was as if I could still hear their voices. Helen ToddHelen Todd is a photographer who focuses on objects and details often overlooked in everyday life. Anywhere there is rusting metal or peeling paint, Helen can be found, searching for a different type of "Northwest landscape". Her evocative photographs encourage observers to take a closer look at the unappreciated beauty of decay. Posted by Helen Todd | October 17, 2008 - 2:34pm

Amy BuchheitI am a multiple media artist with a commitment to creating thought-provoking art that heals the soul. Healing can come in the form of peace and beauty, or in holding a mirror up to one's life. Healing the soul takes many forms in my mind, and has taken many forms in my art. From fields of abstract, swirlings shapes, dots, line and texture through naturalistic still life pieces and sculpture, the feelings evoked may be anywhere from gentle and soothing to somewhat jarring, or a combination of the two.    Posted by Amy Buchheit | August 20, 2008 - 9:13pm
Julia Haack       Much of my inspiration comes from architecture. The practicalities that govern how a building is both constructed and deconstructed fascinate me. Each layer in the building process is like a skin, and I echo these procedures as I build my sculptures. I am also influenced by the work of other artists, including M.C.
