American Express 2008 Members Project

American Express has announced the 2008 Members Project, an online initiative that enables American Express card holders to vote on ideas for projects with the potential to change the world.

The 2007 Members Project drew eight thousand project submissions, from which a single winner, "Children's Safe Drinking Water," emerged after three rounds of voting by thousands of American Express card holders. The company awarded UNICEF $2 million to spearhead the project.

Seattle Presents Clinton Fearon & Boogie Brown Band

The Jamaican-born reggae artist kicks off the outdoor summer concerts at City Hall with his full band performing original grooves. For more than 17 years, Fearon performed with legendary reggae band The Gladiators. He has worked with Yabby You, Jimmy Riley, Max Romeo, Junior Byles and many others.


Location: Seattle City Hall, 600 Fourth Ave

City Hall Plaza, but in the event of rain, concerts continue inside City Hall lobby.

The Mayor's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs hosts free lunchtime concerts at City Hall. Good acoustics, family friendly, and audience members are encouraged to bring along a lunch.
